This online event is the culmination of writing, photography and illustration workshops organized by Maviblau as part of their “Wir sind #vonhier” (“we are from here”) project. Maviblau is a cultural platform for (post-)migrant discourse in Germany and the exchange between Turkey and Germany. They also have an online magazine.

I feel really happy to have taken part in the two-part workshop. Funnily enough, I am not “von hier” in the sense that I am not from Germany. But as I spend more and more time in Berlin and wonder if I could maybe even stay here long-term (forever?) I wonder if I will ever feel like I belong. Maybe that would be the case wherever I would go, but it’s interesting to think about it specifically for Germany.
